Remembrance Day Red Run.
Innerpulse Completes RED RUN Event
The team at Innerpulse in partnership with Executive Excellence produced the highly successful Remembrance Day Red Run Event held in Brisbane Last November.
This is the debut year for this event that aims to remember those service men and women who have fought and died for Australia in all wars and armed conflicts. The day’s programming consisted of a short and long distance run, awards and ceremonial rugby match.
Athletes came from as far as 200 miles to celebrate the event on November 8 and surpass their own level of endurance in recognition of Remembrance Day as participants in the Red Run. As each participant crossed the finish line they receives a traditional Remembrance Day poppy to place at the historic Ballymore Hill. The event held at Ballymore Stadium was held in conjunction the local Rugby club along with a wide range of volunteers and participants.
Innerpulse managed critical functions of the event:
Event planning timeline
Sponsorship Arrangement
Charity Beneficiary Arrangement
Marketing the Event
Website Development
Communications with Sponsors
Communications with participants
Event day logistics
Awards presentation
Cleanup
Dozens of volunteers, support staff and charity helpers all worked together to make the event a huge success. The Red Run honorary soldier Merv Clark was celebrated as part of the overall marketing and program. Read more about Merv: CLICK HERE. Large scale sponsors included BROOKS and Diversicare were invaluable in their support of the event. Charities included Legacy Brisbane and Soldier On were highly thankful for their help.
Here are some comments from participants;
“Lauren, thank you for organising and executing such a successful event, can I say it has been an absolute pleasure working with you. Thank you for being so patient and understanding of aspects from our end.”
Queensland Rugby Union was happy to support the Red Run Remembrance Day Fun Run hosted at Ballymore Stadium. The event was a great success with fundraising benefiting Legacy Brisbane and Soldier On. From the initial meeting through the planning and preparation and during the execution of the event my dealings with Lauren Penny were always positive, encouraging and extremely professional. I found the experience rewarding and look forward to hosting the event in coming years.
Remembrance Day (sometimes known as Poppy Day) is a memorial day observed in Australia since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. The red remembrance poppy has become a familiar emblem of Remembrance Day due to the poem "In Flanders Fields." At first real poppies were worn. These poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I; their brilliant red colour became a symbol for the blood spilled in the war.
